The Chumash Public library is named in respect of the indigenous land it resides on. We were founded in 1993 and are located on the beautiful central coast of California. Our library holds a collection of materials for those who wish to develop new and existing skills, whether that be in a higher education or simply for personal growth. We take pride in providing a safe space for not only our immediate community, but for anyone that chooses to visit.

Mission Statement

The Chumash Public Library provides the city of Carpinteria and beyond the freedom to read, to learn, and to discover. Together with our community, we welcome and support all people
dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge.
