MMPL occupies a charming 6,000 square feet right in the heart of downtown, offering a wonderful mix of spaces perfect for quiet reading and lively community engagement. Our cozy collaborative reading area features 20 comfortable patron desks where you can dive into mystery novels, join book discussions, or savor a good read. You’ll find it easy to relax and browse our themed sections like "Maine Mysteries" and "Noir Thrillers" to discover your next favorite book.
If you’re searching for a more focused environment, our Silent Reading Room is a lovely quiet retreat where silent reading and study are prioritized. It’s truly the perfect spot to lose yourself in a mystery without any distractions.
Our cheerful staff is always ready to help at three service points: the Research Assistance Desk, where our librarians provide book recommendations and research support; the Circulation Desk, where you can easily check out and return materials; and the Technology Desk, where you can borrow laptops, headphones, and other tech tools. Whatever your mystery needs, we’re truly here to guide you.
