Sunbeam Valley Public Library: Beyond the Book

Description

A library can have a special program to make a library more special. I have conducted some special features for my dream library.

  1. Clay Modeling - This is having kids do a clay modeling activity with creating special characters for a selected book. There can be an Imagination Studio and a Makerspace for Kids. Every kid must be supervised by two or more adults; some kids may cause trouble in the building or to another person.
  2. Makerspace or Creation Station - This can be connected to the Clay Modeling theme, where children can do clay modeling, arts and crafts, toys, origami, or science kits. Kids can have fun doing anything in the Makerspace or Creation Station. Like the Clay Modeling, every kid must be supervised by two or more adults.
  3. Tech Center - This place can have tablets, computers, and other electronic devices. People can access devices if they don't have a device, or they left their device at home. The properties must be used properly, or anyone who disobeys is not welcome to stay.
  4. Listening Lounge - This cozy place can contain audiobooks, music, or storytelling podcasts. If anyone is having trouble working on any assignments from school or college, they are very welcome to stay in the listening lounge. Talking is allowed, but people must have their inside voices.
  5. Guest Speakers - This can be infrequent, but people of all ages can listen to a person who will be the guest speaker, the guest speaker can explain everything about themselves and some various things, and everyone at the end can give a round of applause. Only the guest speaker is talking; if anyone interrupts, they are not welcome to hear the guest speaker. Anyone can talk if the guest speaker has a section of questions, or if they want to stay to talk to the guest speaker.
  6. Question of the Week - A poster will be placed out on a board, there will be two or more choices of the question, and there will be an answering jar that people can place their answers or votes in a corresponding question. If there isn't a question for the next week, then anyone is welcome to ask their question of the week. The choice with the most votes will win, and the winner of the specific question will be either displayed at the end of the week or at the start of the next week.
